In Stardust, Mr. Gaiman showcases his talent for creating fairy tales for adults. Each page is filled with gorgeous descriptions, highly imaginative situations, and intriguing characters. Tristan is a delight in his naiveté and his ability to accept the seemingly unacceptable while the star is wonderfully feisty and an excellent foil for Tristan's happy-go-lucky cluelessness. The entire story is a delight, harkening back to the fairy tales of childhood but with a decidedly adult twist. The gift edition is beautifully bound, while the illustrations enhance the story much as they would any other fairy tale. Stardust truly is a beautiful, old-fashioned fairy tale that will delight Gaiman fans and entice new ones.Acknowledgments: Thank you to Tracy Diamond from William Morrow for my review copy!
